Côte d'Azur en septembre la rentrée théâtrale

2023/24 theatre season : Back to theatre on the Côte d’Azur

Season 2023/24

The French Riviera is also a hotbed of theatrical culture. One of the events not to be missed in September is the beginning of theatre season.

For the first show of the 2023/24 season at the Théâtre National de Nice, you’ll have to wait until 4 October. On the bill for La Cuisine, Bérénice de Jean Racine ( from 4 to 7 October 2023).

On the other hand, Nice’s municipal theatre, the Francis-Gag, gets the season off to a good start in September. You must know that on September 12, this landmark Nice theatre plays Inconnu à cette adresse by Kressmann Taylor (8pm, prices: €15-€20 Info + bookings: keren-hayessod.fr 06 85 72 63 70).

And don’t miss Scène 55 in Mougins, where you’ll be moved by La Légende du Saint Buveur by Joseph Roth.

Let’s now go to Antibes. Anthéa – Antipolis Théâtre d’Antibes kicks off its season with a theatrical oddity, bringing to the stage a play by Stéphane de Grodt, Un léger doute.

On the other hand, the Théâtre de Grasse remains in a more classic vein. This theater kicks off its season with a revisited text by Alphonse Daudet. On stage, Les lettres de mon moulin, revisited and brought to the stage by Philippe Caubère.

But French Riviera in September, is also the little theatres….

The Côte d’Azur is also home to a multitude of small theatres offering eclectic programmes that take you on a journey from laughter to tears.

Among many others, we’d like to mention one that we’re particularly fond of, the Théâtre de l’Impasse. In fact, the play written by Fabricio Carminati, founder of FRH, ran there for an entire season. And made crowds of spectators laugh! Théâtre de l’Impasse is opening its season with La casse du siècle — la (pas) véritable histoire d’Albert Spaggiari

Indeed, there’s plenty to do on the French Riviera in September. Enjoy the French Riviera life experience !
