Living on the Côte d'Azur: What to do in March?

THE VIOLET FESTIVAL

Tourrettes-sur-Loup -March 2nd and 3rd

Every year, the violet festival takes place on the first weekend in March, heralding the end of the season for growers. It was created in 1952 by Victor Linton, a Scottish-born artist and silversmith living in Tourrettes-sur-Loup. In 2024, the famous festival celebrates its 71st anniversary. With a craft market, tours of the Bastide aux violettes, entertainment, corso fleuri and flower battles, you’ll no longer have any secrets about violets!

PINOCCHIO'S FARM

Cannes – February 24 to March 5, 2024

A fun and educational area where children can get up close and pet the farm and barnyard animals, enjoy a pony ride, have fun on the inflatables and numerous games, and marvel at the interactive Pinocchio shows.

March 03 to 10, 2024

Paris-Nice is a professional cycling stage race. The race usually starts in the Paris region and ends with a final stage in Nice. The event is nicknamed The Race to the Sun, as it runs in the first half of March, typically starting in cold and wintry conditions in the French capital before reaching the spring sunshine on the French Riviera.

The last 2 stages will take place on Metropolitan territory:
March 9: Stage 7 Nice – Auron, 173 km
March 10: Stage 8 Nice – Nice, 109.3 km

ITF SENIOR TENNIS TOURNAMENT

Beaulieu-sur-Mer – February 29 to March 10, 2024

Open to players aged 35 and over (up to 80+!). The Tennis Club de Beaulieu has been organizing this ITF senior+ grade 2 tournament for 35 years.

Thanks to this international tournament, participants from France and abroad can increase their ITF points capital. They can also hope to take top places in the various Grand Prix events!

POP'EXPO, FROM WORKSHOP TO FASHION SHOW

Musée Masséna – Nice – Until March 31, 2024

The exhibition traces the history of Carnival, from its creation in 1873 to the present day, and highlights floats and costumes inspired by pop culture.

Here you can discover original creations featuring characters from films, TV series, comic strips and video games.

It also honours Carnival artisans, who are the true creators of the event.
