True Story...

During one of our property hunting for one of our dear clients, we visited many apartments in the Old Town of Grasse, very charming area, where buildings are a couple of centuries old or more!

Finally, our client decided for a lovely apartment, fully renovated, in a building that had been fully renovated also about 10 years ago.

As, we always do, we carefully and systematically check all the information we have at our disposal about the apartment. And in one of the co-ownership assemblies, we pointed out, that someone had asked for an inspection to be done, as he noticed that her floor was bending. And a quote for an inspection was demanded.

We asked the agency, who asked the owner, and nobody seemed to know anything about that request. So, we called the building management company (Syndic) and they gave us the number of a company that was supposed to do the inspection. The company told us they hadn’t done the inspection. The problem is that the owners were changing the management company and that the ousted company did not seem very cooperative.

We then called the Townhall to check if there was anything wrong with the building. And Halleluiah, we learned that there was a company that had been approached to do some works in the building. So, we called that company (different than the first one) and they confirmed that ALL the floors of the building need to be reinforced, leading to a cost of 600,000 €!

This amount being enormous, we advised our client to walk out and we continued the research for another apartment, which we found, of course!

What we did, no other agency in the French Riviera and maybe in France would do.
